Fascia Wraps

Fascia Wraps

Fascia wrap installation

A fascia wrap, sometimes called a fascia covering or fascia cladding, is custom-bent aluminum trim metal fitted over your existing wood fascia, the board along the edge of the roof that your gutters hang from. Once the wood is covered, sun, weather and moisture stop reaching it, so it stops rotting, cracking, and shedding paint. Gutters Made Easy wraps fascia on homes and businesses across Central Texas, most often when we install new gutters, since they have to come off the board for the work anyway.

If you want the background first, we cover what fascia wrapping is and why it matters for your home in a separate article. This page is about getting it done: the materials, how we install it, and what drives the price.

Fascia trim materials and colors

Most fascia wraps are made from coated aluminum trim coil, the same family of material used for seamless aluminum gutters. It does not rust, it holds its finish in the sun, and it can be bent on site to fit the exact size and profile of your boards. The color is baked on at the factory, so there is nothing to paint later.

Color is usually the first decision. Many homeowners match the wrap to the gutters so the whole roof edge reads as one clean band. Others match it to the trim, the soffit, or the siding so the gutters stand out. It is worth looking at color options against your house in daylight before you pick.

The wrap covers the fascia board from the drip edge at the shingles down to the soffit, the underside of the roof overhang. Trim metal on the fascia is a big part of how the home exterior looks from the street, which is why the fit and color are worth getting right. Done well, metal fascia provides a straight, clean line for the gutters to sit against. It is also a solid mounting line for permanent roofline lighting, which runs along the same edge.

How we wrap fascia boards

  1. Check the wood. Wrapping over soft or rotted wood only hides the problem. If we find damage, we show it to you so you can decide on a repair before anything gets covered.
  2. Take the gutters down. Existing gutters come off the boards, or we plan the wrap together with a new gutter system.
  3. Bend the metal to fit. The trim metal is measured and bent on site to the height of your fascia and the drip edge above it.
  4. Fasten and lap it right. Each piece is fastened and overlapped so water runs over the seams instead of into them, with clean miters at the corners and gable ends.
  5. Hang the gutters. The gutters go back up on a solid, wrapped edge.

Doing both in one visit means the gutters only come down once, and it is the most common way we do it. Our seamless gutters formed on site are cut to the length of each run, so the new gutter and the new wrap line up with each other.

What affects the cost of fascia wrapping

Every quote comes down to the same handful of things:

  • The total length of fascia, including the rake boards on the gables.
  • How many stories we are working on, and how easy it is to reach the roof edge.
  • The number of corners, gable returns, and changes in roof height.
  • The condition of the wood underneath.
  • Whether the gutters are coming down and going back up, or being replaced at the same time.

We measure everything at the estimate and give you a free quote, so the number fits your house. If your current gutters are pulling away from the fascia or leaking at the corners, it is worth looking at repairing the gutters you have or replacing them while the fascia is open, since that is the cheapest time to do it.

Fascia wraps for Central Texas homes

Central Texas is hard on exposed wood trim. Long summers of direct sun bake the paint off west-facing eaves, spring storms drive rain sideways under the drip edge, and an overflowing gutter soaks the board every time it rains. Once the wood softens, it also opens a door for wasps, squirrels, and other wildlife looking for a way into the attic.

A fascia wrap installed alongside a new gutter system shuts all of that down. The board is sealed under metal, the gutters hang on a solid edge, and the water goes where it is supposed to. Contact one of our Gutters Made Easy representatives for a free fascia quote.
