Gutter installation in Marion
Gutters Made Easy provides seamless gutters in Marion, TX for homes in town and for the houses, barns, and shops on the acreage around it. Marion started as a railroad town. According to the Handbook of Texas, town lots were auctioned in June 1877 after the Galveston, Harrisburg and San Antonio Railway came through, and the city counted about a thousand residents in the 2020 census (Texas State Historical Association, Marion). That mix of older houses on town lots and newer homes on larger tracts shapes most of the gutter work we do here.

Seamless gutters for metal roofs and fast runoff
Standing seam and corrugated metal roofs are common out here on homes, barns, and shops. Metal sheds water fast. In a hard rain it comes off the eave as a sheet with real speed, and an undersized gutter, or one hung too low, lets that water overshoot the front lip and land at the foundation anyway. The Texas Water Development Board even lists overshoot from gutters among the normal losses in a rainwater system (TWDB, Rainwater Harvesting FAQ).
We set the gutter position against the roof edge to catch that sheet, use 6 inch seamless gutters on most metal roofs, and add downspouts so no single outlet carries too much roof. A gutter full of fast moving water is heavy, so every hanger goes into solid framing behind the fascia.
Dark clay and where the water goes
The Handbook of Texas places the northwest part of Guadalupe County in the Blackland Prairie, with dark, calcareous clay soils and about 33 inches of rain a year on average (Texas State Historical Association, Guadalupe County). That clay swells when wet and shrinks when dry, so roof water dumped at the corner of a house keeps the soil next to the foundation moving.
On acreage there is no curb or storm drain to take the water, so it has to go somewhere on your own land. We extend downspouts well past the foundation, aim the discharge downhill, and keep it away from septic drain fields, barn pads, and driveways that turn to mud. On flat ground, a short buried line to a low spot is often the cleanest way to get water away from the house.
Fascia repair and gutters for older town homes
The houses closer to the old railroad townsite are a different job. Many are older frame homes with wood fascia, smaller roofs, and sometimes pier and beam foundations. Here the work is more about fit and protecting old wood than about sheer capacity. We check the fascia before hanging anything, replace soft boards, and often recommend a 5 inch K-style gutter that suits the scale of a smaller house. People ask whether 4 inch or 5 inch gutters are better. On a house, 5 inch is the practical minimum here, since a 4 inch gutter fills quickly in a Central Texas downpour.
Barns, shops, and outbuildings
Barns and metal shops often have long eaves with a big roof area draining to one side. Because we form gutters on site, a long barn eave can be a single piece with no joints to leak. On bare metal roofs, galvalume gutters that match the roof panels look like part of the building and stand up to the sun. A gutter over a barn door or along a shop front keeps water out of the doorway, off the equipment, and off the people walking in. We handle detached garages and covered porches the same way, sized for the roof they actually drain.
Turning a big roof into stored water
A large metal roof is one of the best rainwater collection surfaces there is. The TWDB puts the theoretical yield at about 0.62 gallons per square foot of roof per inch of rain, with most installers planning on 75 to 85 percent of that after losses. By that math, a 2,000 square foot barn roof can put roughly 900 to 1,050 gallons into storage from a single inch of rain. The same TWDB page notes that Texas Tax Code 151.355 exempts rainwater harvesting equipment and supplies from state sales tax.
The gutters are the front end of any collection setup, so it pays to plan them together. We can route chosen downspouts into rain barrels and collection tanks and send the rest to the ground. For more on sizing gutters and storage for big roofs, read our article on metal roof acreage and rainwater.
How long seamless gutters last
Properly hung aluminum or galvalume seamless gutters last for decades, and the things that shorten their life are mostly avoidable: overflow that rots the fascia behind them, ladders leaned against the front lip, and clogs that turn a gutter into a heavy trough of wet leaves. Our materials carry a lifetime manufacturer warranty, and we guarantee our workmanship for 10 years. Keep the system clear, keep the downspouts flowing, and the gutters will usually outlast the paint on the trim.

Absolutely fantastic job. The team showed up first thing Monday morning and got right to work. In no time at all they were done, and results were perfect. The rain gutter across the front of the house was exactly what I needed, and it blended right in with the color of the house trim. Brian and Joe knew exactly what they were doing. I was obvious they had done this before. I could not be more satisfied. I definitely recommend Gutters Made Easy!
